Hearth Rites of Passage
What is Hearth?
Hearth is a three-year Rite of Passage program for teen girls and their parents. Each year includes a series of monthly core gatherings that lead into a six-day wilderness expedition in August. The journey is organized and led by Hearth’s Guides, Aunts, and Elders. Our mission is to support girls through a transformative threshold in their lives, rooted in nature, community, and ceremony.
Hearth provides opportunities for girls to enrich their relationships with themselves and others at a crucial time in their lives. Engaging in personal development, learning social, emotional, and practical life skills, and receiving guidance from trusted Elders in a safe, welcoming environment helps girls build a strong foundation upon which to build their futures.
Mission Statement
To guide teen girls through a trans formative, multi- year rite of passage rooted in ceremony, community, and connection to the natural world while supporting them in becoming grounded, self- aware, and resilient young women.
We honor the girls stepping courageously into their becoming, the Aunts, Elders and Guides who hold them, and the wider community whose love makes this work possible. Learn about our community here.
Hearth exists because of you, because you believe that teen girls deserve spaces where they can root deeply, grow confidently, and belongwholeheartedly. Your gift today nourishes that circle, tending the fire thatguides them from childhood into young womanhood.
“I can promise you that women working together – linked, informed and educated – can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet.”
